Some of the best nights in Portugal happen away from the big cities. This private night out is for groups who want to celebrate in central Portugal, with a local host who plans the route, books the tables and tells the stories behind each place.
In Nazaré, the night starts at the cliff of Sítio, where in 1182 a knight’s horse stopped at the edge of the rock in the fog. The funicular, running since 1889, takes the group down to the beach for dinner at a tavern by the sea, followed by the bars along the seafront.
In Leiria, the night starts below the castle that Afonso Henriques built in 1135 to guard the frontier. Lit up after dark, it watches over the historic centre, where the bars around Praça Rodrigues Lobo fill up on weekend nights. Leiria also had one of the first printing presses in Portugal, at the end of the 15th century.
Tell us the size of your group, the date and what you are celebrating, and we send a proposal with the route, dinner options and a price for the group.
